seashells, each unique
just like people, tell stories
in many colors
shapes and sizes, though we share
the same blue sky and blue sea

  1. This is a beautiful poem! My beaches don’t have many unbroken seashells, but every now and then, I find a gem of a shell and spend some time admiring it before casting it back into the ocean. 🙂

  2. This is a fabulous tanka poem, Sri. I like the juxtaposition between shells and people, and how we all exist with the same blue skies and blue sea. Excellent! ❤
